Aperture:f/5.6
Focal Length:55mm
ISO:200
Shutter:1/80 sec
Camera:Canon EOS 1000D

Took this today out the front of my beach hut on WhakaWhaka Island (NOT!) – that’s what hubby’s suggestion was when I asked him what I should put! (Oh the sincere encouragement….again NOT!)

This stunning specimen was shot flowering in it’s pot in sunny (sort of) Te Puke. (Know where near as glamourous but oh so true)

  1. Gorgeous- and the $65,000 question. What is it?

  2. It was a rather ordinary looking grey Bromeliad. We were given a big boot load of a range of different ones. Planted most of them into the garden and put the ‘overflow’ into pots. This one had no sign of a flower and it just sprung up all of a sudden. Nice surprise.
Looks like frosts heading our way so better buy some frost cloth as apparently they are frost tender until established.
